Todd Smith
Quartermaster - Army

Todd Smith’s distinguished military and law enforcement career began in 1988 when he entered active duty in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Fort McClellan, Alabama, a prominent training facility for the Military Police Corps and the Chemical Corps.

In 1989, Smith was stationed in Berlin, Germany, during a pivotal moment in history. He served at the renowned Checkpoints Charlie and Bravo, critical crossing points between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Notably, he participated as a RAILS Military Policeman on the final mission of the Berlin Duty Train through communist East Germany, directly engaging with Soviet forces.

Following his service in Berlin, Smith was assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia. There, he served with the 988th Military Police Company, deploying to both Panama and Honduras. He also contributed to the U.S. Army Infantry Center Provost Marshal’s Office as a Military Policeman, Marksman Observer Sniper, and Special Response Team member. His advanced training includes completion of the Ranger Indoctrination Program, U.S. Army Pre-Ranger Course, United States Army Marksmanship Unit Sniper Course, U.S. Army Special Reaction Team (SWAT) certification, and U.S. Army Airborne certification.

Smith’s expertise led to assignments at two top-secret locations, where he was responsible for safeguarding items and information vital to national security. He further enhanced his skills by becoming certified as a Scout Sniper with the 3rd Regiment of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Transitioning to civilian life, Smith dedicated 20 years to law enforcement, serving as a patrol officer, detective, and retiring as a patrol sergeant. Currently, he imparts his extensive knowledge and experience to students as the instructor of the Criminal Justice Program at the SEATech Skills Center, located on the Walla Walla Community College campus, serving the Walla Walla School District.
