A native of Walla Walla, WA, Cryptologic Technician Collections Chief Petty Officer (CTRC) Alexander Hall graduated from Walla Walla High School - Class of 2005. He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL in September 2005.
Following recruit training, He reported to Corry Station in Pensacola, FL to attend Cryptologic Technician Collections (CTR) "A” School. From there, he was detailed to Direct Support (Submarines) at Navy Information Operations Command Hawaii where he served as a Morse Code Operator and Fusion Analyst deploying 22 times on USPACFLT Combatants in the 7th Fleet Area of responsibility. Follow on tours include NIOC Whidbey as a Command-and-Control Tactical Analysis Technician and Electronic Warfare Support Analyst in support of Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedom, NSA/CSS Maryland Special Projects and Computer Protocol Analyst. After that he transferred to Cryptologic Support Group, European Command as an NSA Special Liaison to the Defense Intelligence Agency and NATO providing vital signals intelligence support to the AOR for special operations across Europe and into the middle east. Chief Hall then reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes in the fall of 2018 and has served a multitude of positions to include Recruit Division Commander, Curriculum, Instruction, Evaluation Division Lead Instructor, CIED Testing Program Manager, RDC "C” School Course Supervisor, RTC Curriculum Manager and Command Career Counselor.
His awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal (2nd award), Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Navy Good Conduct (6th award), Navy Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, GWOT Expeditionary Medal, GWOT Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd award), Navy Accession Training Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NATO ISAF Mobilized Unit Medal, and Navy Expert Pistol Ribbon.
Currently, Alex has transitioned back to his hometown of Walla Walla, WA as he prepares for retirement, working remotely for the Pacific Northwest Navy Recruiting Command. After hearing the news of the possibility of his local VFW Post 992 being shut down for good, him and his incredibly talented leadership team worked tirelessly bringing the post back to its former glory.
